Peas is one of my favorite vegetable. Potato , peas and tomato is one of the best combination in cooking. This is a widely eaten dish in Northern India. Here, i am sharing the recipe with pics...
Ingredients:
Peas - 1bowl
Onion chopped -1
Garlic - 5 cloves
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Potato - 2, cut in 8 pieces
Cumin- 1tbs.
Turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder- 1/2 tbs. each
Garam Masala - 1 tbs.
Oil for frying.
Method:
Mash peas, garlic, ginger in a food processor. Mixture should be coarse and not completely mashed.
In a frying pan, add oil and saute the mixture for 10 minutes till peas mixture turns grainy.
In a seperate pan, add oil and fry potato pieces. Once cooked, drain the excess oil.
Now, add 2 cups of water and let it boil for 5 minutes. Add fried potato pieces.
Let it boil for 5 more minutes. As the gravy thickens, put the flame off. Its ready.

In a wok, add 2 tbs oil. Once hot, add 1 chopped garlic clove, 1tbs. cumin. As they splutter add turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt , red chilly powder and garam masala along with 2 tbs water. Saute for a minute and add peas mixture and mix.
Let it boil for 5 more minutes. As the gravy thickens, put the flame off. Its ready.
Garnish with grated ginger. Serve with naan, paratha or simple chapati.
